Our workshops have ranged in length from a few hours to a few weeks. We take participants to various sites in western Massachusetts, finding tracks and sign of as many species as possible. Rather than simply teaching track identification, we emphasize ecological relationships, exploring how animals interact with vegetation and other features of the landscape. We make sure to visit a variety of habitats, including forests, fields, shrublands, wetlands, and developed areas. As opportunities arise along the way, we discuss bird vocalizations, plant identification, and other natural history tidbits.
